Una mirada al bienestar, las expectativas y la adaptación psicológica de la enfermedad celíaca, desde un enfoque biopsicosocial

Antecedentes: La enfermedad celíaca (EC) presenta un impacto que trasciende el plano digestivo, afectando a dimensiones emocionales, sociales y cognitivas que condicionan notablemente la calidad de vida. Su dimensión biológica mantiene una interdependencia sostenida con las áreas física, social y psicológica, de manera que cualquier cambio en una de ellas tiende a generar efectos en las demás. Método: Mediante una revisión de alcance, se ofrece una síntesis actualizada de once estudios recientes. Analiza, desde un enfoque biopsicosocial, los principales factores que intervienen en la percepción subjetiva de pérdida de bienestar. Resultados: Se evidencia que la ansiedad derivada de la vigilancia constante, la carga social asociada a la gestión alimentaria, la fatiga y determinados procesos cognitivos configuran un escenario de malestar persistente. Esta situación se mantiene incluso cuando se consigue mantener la sintomatología física bajo control. Conclusiones: La carga emocional constante y multifactorial exige nuevos enfoques con una amplitud holística y transversal. Resulta necesario proveer asesoramiento psicológico y estrategias de adaptación a la cronicidad acordes a cada individualidad. Utilizar esta sinergia desde la psicología permite no solo aliviar el malestar, sino mejorar la adherencia a la dieta sin gluten (DSG), repercutiendo positivamente en el bienestar conjunto.
